A good magazine to try might be Handyman Magazine. Though the magazine is not specifically geared toward hunting or guns, you may be able to find instructions for making a gun rack. Try checking out issues of the magazine that were published during popular hunting seasons, that will be a great place to start.

There are a lot of magazines available in the market on woodworking that can teach you to make all sorts of racks. also, you could keep a lookout for gun magazines with special features on how to make racks.

I would suggest that you look at Gun Digest, Gun World, or Gun Hunter. All of them should contain information on gun rack plans.
