Do you grind your teeth? Severe teeth grinding, whether during the day or night could cause jaw pain. Check with your dentist to be sure.

You could have TMJ disorder. I would suggest you go to a dentist or a dental surgeon and have it checked out. Other symptoms include popping of the jaw, ear pain, dizziness, and headaches. If you have any of these other symptoms, the doctor will be able to tell you if you have the disorder and treat it.

Severe jaw pain can be caused by sinus infections or an infected tooth. If you grind your teeth, this could also contribute to the pain.
