What would cause a dog to be swollen?

It is most likely because of something your dog has ate, it may be taking a while to digest and therefore is blocking up its anal passage. Another reason could be your dogs digestive tract may be infected or swollen and therefore food may be having trouble digesting. If this prolongs bring it to a veterinarian.

He may have gotten into something he shouldn't have you might want to take him into get checked out with the vet. Or he may be having digestion problems but either way it would be better to get a professional opinion on it that the only way to be sure of what you are dealing with.
