It depends on what your hair color is, but peroxide essentially bleaches your hair and strips it of some of it's natural color. Some hair colors will turn more red...

Your hair will be lighter in color, and possible become more damaged. But that's the only way to get lighter hair.

Placing peroxide in your hair can result in color change, drying out your hair and damage that will be difficult to repair. Please consult with a stylist prior to trying something so drastic.
