What will an ultrasound show at eight weeks and six days if my last period was eight weeks ago?

I am going to have an ultrasound tomorrow and want to know what to expect.

When I had my 8-week ultrasound, we could see the sac that the baby was in, its attachment to the lining of the uterus, and the baby's heart. You could also see the heartbeat easily, and the heart itself, which is still on the outside of the baby's body at that time.

If your periods are around 28 days apart and you had intercourse 6 weeks ago, you could be pregnant. At this point an ultrasound would show the fetal pole. It is the growing baby but it is a tiny being at this point. It looks like a white ring. The technician should will be able to record the heart beat.

At eight weeks and six days you should be able to see the gestational sac (fluid filled sac that supports the fetus) and a fetal pole. You should also be able to see the heartbeat.

You're not going to see a whole lot. The baby is really small and not very developed yet. A lot of Doctors won't even do ultrasounds this early.

An ultrasound at eight weeks doesn't show much. There will not be a heartbeat and the fetus will look like a bean. If you can make anything out at all.
