A mysql tutorial will teach you how to communicate with a database. It will teach you the simple mysql language, how to create, manage, delete, search, and edit databases.
Probably how to write generic SQL scripts. This is pretty useless unless you plan on doing database work in the future, which is really the only thing it is used for.
