What were the hallmarks of fifties music?

The 50's was a great time for music. Rock and roll hit the charts in the 50's. Elvis, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard. Swing jazz or just swing as some called it was also a 50's thing.

The great hallmarks to come out of fifties music was a new R N B sound and of course swing dance.
