The 80s were a great decade for sci-fi in the cinema with many popular franchises being created and others receiving new life. Some titles that sci-fi fans won't want to miss are: Aliens, Predator, Tron, Blade Runner, Robocop, Star Treks II-V, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Battle Beyond the Stars, Ghostbusters, Terminator and The Last Starfighter.

Ghostbusters is my favorite sci-fi movie. Ghostbusters II is a total waste of time. The Back to the Future movies are good. Also Cocoon, Blade Runner, and Millenium. It would depend on what type of sci-fi movies you like. There's also Star Trek II (The Wrath of Khan), Star Trek III (Search for Spock) and Star Trek IV (Voyage Home).
