What should I look for in a photo storage box?

I want something that will last a long time and keep the photos safe.

It should be plastic with as tight fitting lid to protect the contents. Dividers are useful for organizing. A label insert on the front helps identify contents, and can be updated if photos are updated. Make sure carton is large enough for photo size stored.

The best photo storage boxes should be of archival quality. That means they should be made of sturdy acid free paper. Acid free paper will not erode your photos and will keep them looking their best for a long time.

You should look for archival quality boxes that are acid free. This will protect your photos overtime. You should also look for something that will keep bugs out and maybe even fire retardant, just in case.

It should have good quality construction and be a firm box. Moisture and dirt are harmful to photo's so the box should have an airtight seal and be water resistant if not $100 waterproof as well.
