Always cut their food up in small bite size pieces and make sure that you take a infant and child CPR class so that you can help him or her if they get in trouble. If leaving them at child care always inform their primary care giver of the situation.

Your pediatrician is the best person to diagnosis a gag reflux problem in a toddler. Some symptoms of a gag reflux is chocking on food, unable to keep food or liquids down, and difficulty in eating. Try to make the food pieces small so that he/she won't chock on them.

There might be medications to reduce the reflux issues, depending on what is causing them. If it is acid reflux that is contributing to it, baby zantac helps alot. If it is just a straight gag reflux, then be careful while doing tasks that would involve objects in their mouth (feeding), only putting the object(s) in as far as necessary.

See your doctor, only he can tell you what to do. Is there something that she is eating, drinking or making her gag that is bringing this on.
