What should I know before marrying a bi-polar person?

Answer by  ncdaisygirl (175)

Having bipolar disorder should not deter you from marrying someone. Some important things to know are if the person is being managed by medication, if they are receiving any professional help, and if they know how to track their moods - i. e. if they can tell when they are going into a depressive or manic state.

You need to make sure you can handle the constant mood swings. Some bi-polar people become violent on top of their manic periods. Some also have addictions where they spend money uncontrollably.
