UTI's are very common, especially in female dogs. The infections are usually related to an unclean supply of food or water. Bathe your dog regularly, make sure they have clean food and water, walk them and take them to the bathroom frequently to avoid problems.

Dogs with urinary tract infections often get them from unsanitary conditions. You may want to try keeping her away from mud puddles and dirty areas.

A urinary tract infection is almost always easily treatable, but don't do it without the advice of a licensed veterinarian. He or she will treat it with antibiotics.

You need to give your dog antibiotics that are prescribed to the animal by a veterinarian. Try not to get angry at the dog if it messes on the floor

Don't overreact. Be sure to give your dog plenty of water. If you're one of the several owners that likes to feed your pet your food, then stop... you may be giving your dog the uti. Dogs do not share the same digestive system as we do.

Since the dogs can't tel you the symptoms, its upto you to keep your eye opened. Symptoms are blood in the urine, strain, foul smelling etc.

Your dog should be crated at all time til the uti is undercontrol. Dogs with uti's will pee in strange places and may also have blood in their urine. So if you don't want your house smelling like urine, please keep crated and don't give your pet any type of dairy products at all.
