Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery first to prevent any sparks. Connect jumper from grounded location on frame to negative node on fuel pump and connect the positive node to a switched and fused positive line.

You can use jumper wires to test your fuel pump. Make sure your jumper cables are properly connected. A mechanic, auto parts dealer or mechanic forums online can tell you how to hook everything up properly. When connected, you should hear a clicking sound. If not then the fuel pump relay is not working and needs to be replaced.
