Clumping bamboo requires little maintenance. It's very cold hardy and prefers cool, temperate climates. It thrives in shady areas and can tolerate full sun in coastal areas. Since the roots stay clumped and only grow a few inches underground these plants are easier to contain than other types of bamboo

The first thing to know is that you shouldn't let your bamboo dry out. Bamboo us used to being in a humid environment. Bamboo likes well drained soil with a lot of peat and organic matter. Water new bamboo until the soil is saturated. Do not over water but water about once a week.

Its best in loose, loamy soil. Water the rootball of the plant before planting it and water it 3-4 times a week for the 1 month that you plat it.

Not much special care is needed. It likes sun and dose not like to have it's roots sitting in water. Mulch around the bottom to hold in moisture.

Well it's not really a harm to you at all just chirp off the branches from time to time and it will be okay.
