Make sure you make the vent the correct size, which is about six inches for a plumbing vent. Try to avoid leaks too.

Depending on the type of roof you have, this is fairly simple. The vent goes through the roof and you then seal around the vent. Done!

If you instaling plumbing vent on hip roof, you must cut the roof as the vent diameter is. You must put sheet metal (tin) around vent and cover that part of roof with waterproof material.

It's a bit late now.. You should have done that before finishing the roof. Go to a specialized shop,buy some tools and don't hurry.

Make sure to use a waterproof caulk and place the top of the vent under the shingles. Be sure to caulk all nails that secure the vent to the roof.
