The most important thing about hosting a baby shower is to keep everyone engaged and involved. Games are a good way to break the ice and get people talking. Food that the expectant mother likes is also important. Make sure she is involved in creating the menu since the last thing you want to do is gross her out!

Is the mother having the baby or adopting? Is she married and if so, will the father attend? Who does she want invited? What store is the gift registry? When, where will the event be held? It should only be two hours and designate a note taker for thank yous.
