Given that you're waiting for the "egg to hatch," so to speak, you could have a lot of fun with egg timers as a favor. Alternatively, serve cookies instead of cake, then give the same shape of cookie cutter wrapped with pink or blue ribbon as a favor.

You could hand out biodegradable seed packets with flower or vegetable seeds inside (for your "little sprout"!), little baby bottles filled with bath salts or body wash, small magnetic picture frames.
