The most important thing to know about the owl near your goldfish pond is that the owl is hunting and your goldfish are serving as food!

Owls don't generally eat fish. They prefer small mammals, insects and other birds. Most owls are nocturnal, hunt at night, or crepuscular, hunt in the twilight hours.

Owls regurgitate things called pellets, they look like hairy dung. Find and dissect one of the pellets, it will have bones and undigestibles from its last prey item.
