What should I know about adding a plug-in under the counter lights and wiring?

More than meets the eye, should be done by a professional. Load on the breaker must be considered. If you do it you can just link from existing box

There are a couple things when adding a under count plug in light. First, make sure the socket your are plugging into is a GFL socket. It will protect you and your home if the thing gets wet. Second, make sure that the light is securely screwed down, don't want it falling into a sink or anything.

You should learn both the total wattage (can the circuit take the load) and the amount of heat the lights will create. Can the heat cause any damage or danger?
