Eight months old should still be on infant formula, but they may also eat stage 2 baby foods and infant cereal. Be sure to incorporate enough fruit to balance the iron in the cereals.

At 8 months babies can start to eat dry food. Tea cookies are a good snack because they disolve in their mouth so they will not choke.

You should always consult with your doctor on the proper diet for your infant. For the most part at this age you should stick with jar baby food, the level, one, two or three will depend on how long he has been eating solids. Always include fruits and vegitables in his diet.

They can eat baby cereals like rice and oatmeal, applesauce, peaches, ripe bananas, sweet potatoes, yogurt, cottage cheese, and cooked vegetables such as carrots, green beans, and peas. The food should be mashed or pureed until it is has no lumps and is about as thick as cream.
