What should I do if my beagle has vicious behavior?

I would consult an experienced animal behaviorist that has worked with aggressive dogs in the past. They should be able to observe your dog and offer suggestions to change bad behaviors and to train your dog. Some aggressive behavior could be due to a medical problem so your dog may need to be evaluated and possibly medicated by your vet.

Try to distract the beagle's attention towards chew toys and ropes and other toys that he can be aggressive with. If he acts viciously towards someone, firmly tell him no and do not reward him. A gentle tap on the nose with a rolled magazine works if he is really aggressive, but not hard.
