Can anything be done about beagle kidney failure?

Unfortunately, not much can be done. Dialysis would be the best solution. Humans in kidney failure can live for years by going for dialysis a few times a week. This solution is often too costly and stressful for pets. Your best bet is to make the time you have left with your dog count as much as possible. Good Luck.

Renal failure is generally terminal, but you can extend your dog's life by feeding a low-protein, low-sodium diet. Many special foods can be purchased. There are also medications that you can give your dog to help with the symptoms and make him or her more comfortable. Ask your veterinarian for advice.

Take him to the vet. I don't think there is anything they can do but maybe. But I know they have things that will help him feel more comfortable til the end.

Obviously, for something this serious you are consulting your vet. You will get your best advice from him or her. Kidney failure is often not treatable and if your dog's quality of life is affected, you may want to consider euthanizing him. As hard as this is, it may be the kindest thing you can do.

It all depends on his situation, what is the cause of the kidney failure, is chronic or acute? There are some treatments for kidney failure in dogs, but they depends on the situation. It would be beneficial to talk to your vet on the course of treatment best.

You need to talk to your vet about the best way to help your dog. There are special foods you can put your dog on that help with kidneys, as well as medications.
