Question by  imamansoiknow (28)

What should I do if I've been running a fever of 99.9 for about a year?

Does this mean something is wrong with me?

Every person's normal temperature is a little different. 98. 6 is just the average. If you feel fine, you probably are.

Not necessarily. While we typically think of 98. 6 as the normal body temperature, it is actually just an average; some people have higher or lower basal body temperatures.

It's not uncommon for your body to fluctuate from 97-99 degrees. However, if you've been on a certain prescription for a while, it could be a side effect of that. There are a lot of things that could cause this, some not so good. Ask your doctor.

It sounds like your temperature wasn't so high before. Did you replace your thermometer about a year ago? Try other thermometers. Otherwise, ask a doctor about thyroid issues.

I would seek medical advice if my temp has been 99. 9 for about a year now. It doesn't seem normal to me but it could also be that your thermometer does not work. So maybe get a new one, take your temp with that and if its the same then seek medical advice.

If your temperature stays that way all the time it might just be normal for you. 98. 6 is the normal temperature but there are exceptions. I run a temperature of 98. 1 all the time so 98. 6 is a fever for me. If you have any health symptoms other than the temperature you should check with a doctor.
