A good place to start is to make a log of symptoms. When does the chest pain occur? How long does it last? What helps it go away? Does it hurt when you push on your chest? Also make an appointment with your PCP. An EKG can rule out cardiac

You should go see a doctor as soon as possible. Pain on the left side of the chest is a symptom of a possible heart attack.

Any chest pain around your heart is very serious and should be checked by a doctor immediately. Often, these pains are not actually heart attacks (there are other organs in the area, and muscles, as well), but if it is, quick treatment is vital. Most people do not survive their first heart attack because they ignore their initial chest pain.

The pain may be due to some gas trouble. If you feel pain mid-way between left and right sides you should be very careful. Keep an Isordil tablet below your tounge. It will swallow automatically. after few minutes if still pain persists, better to consult a cardiologist.
