Mastitis in dogs is a medical emergency that requires antibiotics. It's easy to treat, but can get serious quickly if untreated. Take dog to the vet as soon as possible.

Daily examination of the dog's mammary glands allows early detection of infection in the breasts allowing prompt treatment. a plentiful supply of clean water is very important to the well being of the dam. Performance foods also have a balanced formula over the nursing period.

To help ease your dog's pain and allow her body to heal itself, it's a good idea to clean the mammary with warm water, and then use hot packs to surround it. Since nursing dogs can be more prone to infection, it can also be a good idea to give her an antibiotic, such as Clavamox. However, it is always best to consult a vet. You may want to end nursing for a few days and feed the pups some other way.

I think you should see a Vet right away. I would be concerned that the puppies would get some sickness from the infection being passed to them.
