A runny nose is a sign of a larger problem. If your horse just has a little bit of snot for a day and then it seems to go away you don't need to do anything. However, if it's a lot of snot and your horse is looking lethargic you should call your Vet to come look at the horse.

If there's blood in the fluid it's an infection, if not then it could be allergies. To distinguish see a vet, the horse may require antibiotics if it's an infection.

Check its temperature. A normal temp is between 99 and 101. 5 degrees F. If elevated the horse may be sick. If not it may just be allergies.
