Take your cat to a veterinarian. Without the proper care, the sores could become infected and cause further complications. The sores could also be a sign of another underlying condition.

Open sores in both animals and humans can be dangerous and lead to infection. It's possible the sores are hots spots (irritated skin) or some sort of abscess from a bite. Take your cat the vet. The sores may need cleaning and perhaps some medication (antibiotics). Better safe than sorry.

Until you can get your kitty to the vet you can use some neosporin on the sores. Unless you know specifically why your cat has the sores I would suggest taking her to the Vet so that you can find out what is going in case antibiotics are needed.

If the open sores are around your cat's ears, he or she may be scratching at ear mites with its sharp claws.

Just like with a person you'll want to use an antibiotic to prevent infection. The best and safest antibiotic I've found is colloidal silver. It's just silver water. It works.
