Your dog should recover completely. It is best to keep him calm and limit his activity. Keeping him crated would be a good idea. That way you can control what he does and keep him from jumping on his leg. He will still need regular potty breaks and some limited exercise. No running!

Your dog will need to keep off of all fours for a short time so the bones can start healing. If that is possible, then your dog should recover.

It all depends on the dog. Is it a old dog? If so probably not it will never recover fully. Sometimes even younger dogs don't recover completely. It is of course nothing to fret about your dog can live a life with a injured ankle just like a human can.

It should take about two months for him to recover if you don't want to take him to the vet.

If you have not done so, take your dog to the vet. Every broken ankle must be evaluated and require different methods of repair and healing. Full healing can take 6 months to 1 year, depending upon the severity of the break. Physical therapy can help maintain the leg's function.
