Take your car to a repair shop for the wiring. Sprinkle cayenne pepper on your wires to keep the animals away. You can also put rat traps under your hood.

You should take the vehicle in to have the damage repaired and invest in some big cat urine. The urine from big cats will scare off almost any small mammal.

This happened when I lived in the woods too. All you can do is replace the wires which don't cost much. Don't tape them since that's dangerous.

An easy, but annoying, solution would be to wrap the wires in tin foil when not in use. Most rodents hate the way tin foils rubs their teeth. In addition to that, you could invest either in poison, if you insist on ridding the problem, or attempting one of those sonic noise emitters to rid yourself of pests.

if your car has chewed wires then you should bring it to a garage to have it looked at and have the wires replaced if they have been chewed. as far as having it not continue there isn't much that can be done

You should have the wires replaced and put out traps to catch the animal that is causing you problems. You can also paint the new wires with repellent for backup.

"Stripped/frayed wires are dangerous. Sparks can fly out and cause an electrical fire. Wrap them with electric tape until you can get them replaced. Or at least call an auto repair shop and ask them if you need to replace them or can just leave the electric tape on.

If you can easily access all the wires you can cover them with electrical tape. This should help from developing a short in the electrical system until you can properly splice in new sections of wire or completely replace the wires if necessary.
