Cold sores and pimples are two very different things. A cold sore is caused by a viral (herpes) infection and can be treated with an OTC cream or oral prescription antiviral. A pimple is a bacterial infection of a clogged pore and can be carefully drained or dried out with products containing salicylic acid.

A cold sore is different than a pimple. A cold sore will eventually go away on its own, but you can buy over the counter medication to fix the problem. If you have a pimple, a easy way to make it go away is break up an aspirin, and leave it on the pimple while you sleep.

If it is a cold sore, you should buy some Abreva and apply that to it. Do not mess with it other than this. As far as a pimple, you should try to avoid popping it. You should boil hot water on a stove, and then hover your head over the steam to open your pores to get bad out.
