You can wait and see if it resolves on its own, especially if it is draining. However if it is large and painful and/or has redness around it and feels hot you should see your doctor. The boil may need to be lanced and you may need antibiotics.

First thing, is call your doctor to get some antibiotics for your problem. Then, you can try hot compresses to bring it out of the skin. Do not try to bust it, because it will only get worse, swell up, and turn even more red. Leave it alone and call your doctor.

Boils are common in the armpit. It is best to leave it alone until it ruptures. You can hasten the process with very warm compresses to the area.

Go to the drug store and buy some boil ease. Wash the armpit with soap and water and pat dry. Apply the boil ease and it is black and smells like tar, put gauze over the boil ease before bed time. In the morning the boil with have a head. Apply warm wash cloth and squeeze.

You should definitely go see a doctor if you have what appears to be a boil. In the meantime, using moist heat (warm rag) will help promote draining.
