Resolution, contrast ratio, screen refresh rate, number of connection inputs and what types of inputs it accepts, video processing effects that alter the picture quality.

The main consideration with considering which LCD TV to buy should be price. At this point in the production cycle of LCD TV's almost all the components in the TV are commodities, so there's no since in paying more for a brand which what's inside is the same. A check of Consumer Reports should yield good info as well.

LCD TVs have a very clear picture but can sometimes be expensive. You need to decide if its worth the money for you. If your'e a movie watcher they are probably worth it. If you watch mostly sitcoms its probably not worth the investment

The resolution you want: 720p is cheaper but 1080p looks nicer. What kind of inputs you want: do you need extra HDMI (for a game system, Blu-ray, cable box, etc) or PC inputs, etc. What other features do you want: internet connectivity, USB support, 3D?
