I think you need to consider what it takes to care for a monkey with respect to housing, feeding and medical care. You also need to take into consideration the lifespan of the monkey and can you provide for it adequately in that respect.

In most places monkey's are illegal. Also consider the serious diseases they can get and you will not often be able to take them to a vet/doctor without consequences.

Children in the house(either children or monkey get jealous of your love, or they could have a fight..), wage(extra living expenses), house environment(supposing monkeys alike human, cramped home cause melancholy)
