Most exotic pets are illegal to keep, or you need a special licence. One small exotic pet that you may be able to keep (depending on where you live) is an Ocelot. An Ocelot is a small cat with tiger markings. They are very expensive though and very hard to find.

African Civet, Barn Owl, Spotted Ginet and a coatimundi are some of the small exotic pets I might like to have as pets.

I would say a mouse is an exotic pet, especially if you let the little guy roam your home freely. Not many people have a pet mouse.

I wouldn't recommend any exotic animal, as they are exotic for a reason: they're not good pets. It took 10,000 years to tame dogs. They are not dogs. They are not tame.
