What order should you do cardio and toning?

When exercising should you do cardio first or toning first.

Opinions on what to do for fitness differ, but for safety you should do cardio first so that you get your heart rate up from the start. then do your toning, which will keep your heart rate up more effectively after cardio. Cardio will get the blood pumping to your muscles and warms them up for the weight training.

It's a really just a matter of personal choice. Personally, I'd warm up with cardio and do weight training after. And I would bias my weight training towards fewer sets and repetitions with heavier weights. I'd also focus more on compound exercises instead of the more commonly seen isolation movements.

That would depend on which body parts you are working on what. Just make sure that you will be able to walk away from your workout when you are done and it really doesn't matter which you do when. Also remember to warm up with a stretch.

Your warm up should be cardio. When you are in the middle, start toning. Afterwards, cool down with cardio again.
