Borax is a mineral found in Death Valley. Between 1183 and 1189 mule teams would transport the borax out of the Valley to provide borates for many household products including, glass, detergents, cosmetics and medicine.

Twenty Mule Team Borax is a laundry booster. It aids in cleansing your clothes, along with your detergent. The name came into being, when a team of 20 mules was used to move Borax out of Death Valley, California. The Dial Company now owns it.
