Worsted weight yarn by "Hart" is very commonly used and can also be used for many projects, it is strong enough and soft enough for children to use as well.

the best yarn is that one you can use for other arts and crafts and not nesesarely for christmas its great to have a good piece of yarn because then later on you can use it for other projects around the house and its great for decorations all over everywhere.
