What kind of tax deductions can you get for home improvements?

I made a bunch of them this year.

If you made home improvements that improved the energy efficiency of your home, you will receive tax benefits for that. You need to still have your receipts in case you are audited and you should probably use a tax software to spell out what you can claim safely.

The only home improvement deductions this year are the energy credits. Furnaces, air conditioners, water heaters, boilers, roofs, insulation and biomass stoves are included. No appliances(stoves, washer, dryer, etc... ).
