Some of the quarters in 1960 were still made of silver. Silver coins continued to be in circulation until 1964.

Washington silver quarters were issued. If you had one today it would be worth anywhere from $1.50 to $25 depending on where you sold it.

Quarters in the U.S.were ninty percent silver and ten percent copper. In 1965 they changed the quarter to the clad quarter. They have always had washington on the front and something different on the back.
