Gallbladder ejection fraction is measured when a condition called acalculous biliary pain is suspected. Acalculous biliary pain is any gallbladder pain that is not caused by stones. During the test CCK, a hormone, is injected and the gallbladder is measured before and after. The amount of CCK that is released from the gallbladder determines the ejection fraction. Normal is 35-75%.

That means that your mom has a small particle of a gall stone stuck in her body. They will need to remove the fragment. This can usually be done in a minimally invasive way.
