What kind of poetry did John Ashbury write?

Answer by  JenaMae (794)

Ashbury wrote poetry in the surrealist style. This means his poetry is very dense with no deference to the rules of common sense or what should or should not be. There are no boundaries in his poetry which is very post-modern.

John Ashbury was most well-known for experimental poetry. He often wrote shaped or "concrete" poetry where the words are arranged in a particular, intentional way on the page.
