Groin injuries can be hard to treat, but they can respond to rest, ice and gentle stretching when the pain has lessened enough that it can be done without pain. Anti-inflammatory medications can also sometimes be helpful. Sometimes a groin injury is caused by weakness or muscle imbalance which a physiotherapist can prescribe exercises for.

The key to healing groin injuries is time and stretching. Lunges help as well as leaning up against a wall and doing the following: place one leg in front of the other and push against the wall, apply steady but light pressure to groin muscles. Do NOT "bounce". Hold for thirty seconds and repeat in sets of ten; alternate legs.

Relief for groin injuries can be found in temperature fluctuations by altenating heat and ice. Movement and stretching those muscles can also be effective.

Get down on all fours and take your right arm and point at an imaginary object in the distance, at the same time slowly kick your right leg straight back, repeating three times per minute for 5 minutes.
