When looking for a name for your dog, something unique is always a good choice, it makes it easier for your dog to recognize their name. Some good names for female Basset Hounds are Scarlet, Darcie, Shayna, Opal, Jordanne, Fauna, Paz, Lea or Sophie. For male Basset Hounds try Bartleah, Wendel, Jack, Mordred, Morpheus, Kilian, Cedric, Elton or Phineas!

Look to your dog's personality traits for naming clues. Name your dog after someone who has or is in some way reminiscent of that trait. For instance, you could use "Emmett" or "Kelly" after the famous, sad-faced clown. Alternatively, choose "Sigmund" or "Freud" for a cure to sadness.
