What kind of nail clippers should I use for a rat?

I have used regular human nail clippers with great success many times. Obviously, your rat needs to be tame enough that he won't freak out when you do this, but I see no reason to go out and buy special pet ones when you can use human ones!

You can probably use regular dog or cat nail clippers as long as you're careful. Pet stores might also sell nail clippers specifically for rodents like rats and hamsters, but using clippers meant for dogs and cats should be fine. Some cat nail clippers are pretty small, so those might work well.
