You can give your cat some spoonfuls of real unflavored yogurt daily (greek yogurt is excellent), and fresh water available at all times. You CAN'T give them any medicine, without risking killing them. It is up to your vet to prescribe meds. It is unusual for cats to be constipated with normal feeding and regular water.

If your cat is constipated take him to the Vet. Over the counter human medicines shouldn't be given to pets because most are not tested on animals. These human medicines can actually kill your pets in the wrong doses or if you gave them a medicine that they shouldn't have.

The laxative that you can give your cat is called Hairball Remedy do not give the cat human laxatives as it can hurt them. If this still does not help take the cat to the vet.
