Pioneers pretty much were nothing more than farmers. They farmed such things as corn, potatoes, wheat, peas, carrots and tomatoes. Pioneers also made their own special type of bread. They also hunted for wild pigs, cows, rabbits and sometimes even bears. To accompany their meal they drank water, milk, coffee and tea.

Oregon Trail is very accurate. People heading west ate whatever they could hunt or forage for, and whatever supplies (usually grains) they had with them.
