Beware of spider mites and leaf spot in the young growing king palm trees. These can spoil the tree. Ensure the soil is well drained - otherwise root rot can set in that will actually kill the trees.

The King palm tree requires full sunlight usually found in places with a tropical climate. Temperatures need to be maintained over thirty degrees. Use fertilizer that is slow releasing in midsummer and spring.

King palms require very little care. I know this because I have one and I am horrible at taking care of plants. You can basically stick them in the dirt and leave them.

Make sure the King Palm has full sun and good water drainage. Keep the soil well watered and evenly moist. Make sure not to over water though because this can cause rotting of the roots which in turn kills your palm. Make sure to feed your palm with palm tree specific nutrients.
