What kind of bug bite could cause fever and chills?

My first guess would be a spider bite... or a tick... what does the bit look like? 2 small punctures means a spider. 1 large inflamed is probably a tick.

In the US, such symptoms could be caused by spider bites from a Black Widow or the Brown Recluse. If allergic, Bee and Wasp stings could cause similar reactions. Tick bites could also be cause for concern. After being outside in a wooded area, be sure to check for ticks on socks or pant cuffs, as well as on pets.

If you are allergic to any insect that can cause it. However it could also be a spider or ant bite.
