What is your opinion of Maxtor hard drives?

Maxtor hard drives have a long history in the world of computers. They used to be one the best computer hard drives out there. There were the third-best hard drives in the early 90's. Now Maxtor is a subsidiary company operated by Seagate, another hard drive company. Both companies now compete with the leader in HDD: Western Digital.

If you are looking for an inexpensive hard drive for your computer, Maxtor is an above average choice. If you are not gaming or using this drive for high performance computations, this is probably a good choice. Maxtor hard drives are reliable and can last for years.

Like every other hard drive on the market, Maxtor are really good. They are also a good value for the money especially if you shop around to find the best price. However they are not as reliable as some of the more expensive models. They are more prone to be corrupted sooner than other models and this is very decisive.

I had a maxtor that lasted about four years in my computer. The noise he produced was a little bigger than my other hard driver (different brand).
