What is wrong with my Cressida if it has a high idle?

You most likely have a tune up problem. First try running a quality fuel system cleaner through it. Drive it and if it doesn't seem to help then finish the tune up. Spark plugs, wires, distributp cap and rotor, fuel filter and air filter.

If you are idling high, then you have either have a vacuum leak or the idle control valve needs to be adjusted.

Either your IAC valve is out of adjustment or might need clean. Check to make sure the linkage is free and lubricated. Also check for vacuum leaks.

I will almost guarantee you have a vacuum leak on your engine. If you recently installed an air filter, the intake tubing is your culprit.
